Giving
Giving at St. James is an act of gratitude and shared responsibility.
We give in response to God’s generosity and as a way of participating in the life and mission of the church. Through giving, we support worship, care for one another, and serve our neighbors with faithfulness and integrity.
Giving is always voluntary and offered freely.
Why We Give
At St. James, giving is understood as a spiritual practice.
Generosity helps sustain our shared life of prayer, enables meaningful service in the community, and supports the ongoing care of this parish. Giving is not about obligation or expectation. It is about participating in something we value together.
There are many ways to contribute to the life of the church, and financial giving is one of them.
What Your Giving Supports
Gifts to St. James support the full life of the parish, including:
- Worship, music, and liturgical life
- Pastoral care and spiritual formation
- Community outreach and service ministries
- Stewardship of our historic church and facilities
- Daily operations that allow the church to remain present and responsive
Together, these commitments allow St. James to remain a place of welcome, prayer, and service for generations to come.
Stewardship and Accountability
St. James is committed to responsible and transparent stewardship.
Financial oversight is shared between clergy and lay leadership, with clear structures of accountability. Resources are managed thoughtfully, with care for both present needs and long-term sustainability.
Trust is central to faithful stewardship, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Ways to Give
There are several ways to give, and you are invited to choose what works best for you.
You may also give:
- In person during worship
- By mail to the church office
Both one-time gifts and recurring contributions are welcome. You are encouraged to give in a way that reflects your circumstances and sense of calling.
Giving and Belonging
Giving is never a requirement for participation at St. James.
All are welcome to worship, serve, and belong, regardless of their ability to give. Each person’s situation is different, and generosity takes many forms, including time, presence, prayer, and service.
Every gift, in whatever form it takes, is valued.
With Gratitude
We are deeply grateful for the generosity that sustains the life of St. James.
Through the shared gifts of this community, we are able to worship together, care for one another, and serve our neighbors with compassion and faith.
